S513 - North Carolina Farm Act of 2015, Sec. 1: Revise Horse Industry Promotion Act to Increase Caps on Duration and Amount of an Assessment (SL 2015-263)

Overview: Sec. 1 of S.L. 2015-263 increases the North Carolina Horse Council assessment from $2.00 to $4.00 per ton of commercial horse feed, and provides that the assessment is levied for a period of 10 years, up from 3 years. By statute, the Council must use these funds to promote the interests of the horse industry.
