Overview: Section 17 of S.L. 2025-47 (Senate Bill 391) prohibits vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more from operating in the leftmost lane of any controlled-access highway with six or more lanes, except when entering or exiting the highway or avoiding a hazard or to pass.  A violation of this provision is an infraction.

This section becomes effective December 1, 2025, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
