Overview: Section 5 of S.L. 2025-10 (Senate Bill 477) clarifies that (i) employees of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources assigned to assist the North Carolina Symphony Society, Inc. (Symphony) are exempt from certain classification and compensation-related rules established by the State Human Resources Commission and (ii) the Symphony is not a State agency and continues to be eligible to receive the patronage of the State.
