Overview: Section 7.50 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) amends the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Pilot Program created in the 2023 Appropriations Act by requiring the Department of Public Instruction to provide a directed grant to Alamance-Burlington Schools of the unexpended and unencumbered portion of the $3.2 million dollars previously directed to New Hanover County Schools for an AI School Safety Pilot Program.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
