S257 - 2026 Appropriations Act. (SL 2026-41)

Overview: Section 19.2 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) adds the following to the offenses for which an order for electronic surveillance can be granted:

  • Money laundering, when the interception may provide evidence of the commission of the offense or conspiracy to commit the offense.
  • Felony human trafficking involving adults, when the interception may provide or has provided evidence of the offense or conspiracy to commit the offense.

This section becomes effective December 1, 2026, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
