Overview: Section 21.4 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) requires that the State Highway Patrol report on the progress of the Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders (VIPER) system no later than March 1 and September 1 of each year to the Chairs of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
