Overview: Section 16.30 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) increases the indigent defense fee to be remitted to the Office of Indigent Defense Services for the Private Assigned Counsel Fund from $5 to $25.
This section becomes effective December 1, 2026, and applies to costs assessed on or after that date.
