Overview: Section 6 of S.L. 2026-59 (Senate Bill 445) expands the exemptions to the requirement to be a licensed electrician before performing electrical work to allow the temporary attachment of certain electrical components to existing, permanent receptacles for time‑limited, permitted international wholesale trade show events in an exhibition hall, mercantile, or assembly occupancy space, so long as a valid electrical permit is obtained and the work is inspected and approved by the local electrical inspector prior to the show's opening.

This section became effective August 11, 2026, and applies to permitted events occurring on or after that date.
