Overview: Section 6.11 of S.L. 2026-61 (House Bill 268) exempts the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) from certain procurement, contract, and public contract requirements on matters of purchasing, contract, acquisition, and maintenance of real property and leasing of office space. However, any acquisition of real property made by the SBI pursuant to this section is subject to approval by the Council of State.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
