Overview: Section 9B.4 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) transfers all the functions, authority, powers, and duties of the Office of Health Equity to the Division of Public Health. The statutory provision vesting the powers of the former Office of Minority Health with DHHS is repealed. The Governor and DHHS are prohibited from creating a new division, office, or section within DHHS that performs any of the functions or duties transferred from the Office of Health Equity to the Division of Public Health.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
