H1104 - Improve IVC Process and Enhance Public Safety. (SL 2026-38)

Overview: Section 3 of S.L. 2026-38 (House Bill 1104) directs the Local Management Entities/Managed Care Organizations (LME/MCOs) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to develop a plan to use mobile crisis units to enhance the efficiency of the involuntary commitment (IVC) process. The LME/MCOs and DHHS are required to consult with relevant stakeholders in developing this plan.
The LME/MCOs and DHHS must submit a report on the plan to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services and the Fiscal Research Division by October 1, 2026.
