A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to require that all voting systems used for elections in this state be made in the united states of america by united states–owned companies.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 163‑165.7 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:
"(k) Subject to any applicable federal law or regulations governing voting systems, the State Board of Elections shall require that all voting systems used for elections in this State, including any software used for those voting systems, be manufactured in the United States of America by United States–owned companies."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law and applies to voting systems acquired on or after that date.
