A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT TO extend the term of mayor from two to four years in the town of carolina shores.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Section 3.4 of the Charter of the Town of Carolina Shores, being S.L. 1998‑75, as amended by Town Ordinance No. 19‑6 adopted December 6, 2018, reads as rewritten:
"Sec. 3.4. Selection of
Mayor; Term of Office. The qualified voters of the entire Town elect the
Mayor. Theodora Altreuter shall serve as Mayor to serve until the organizational
meeting after the 1999 municipal election. A Mayor shall be elected in 1999 and
biennially thereafter for a two-year term.In 2021, and quadrennially
thereafter, a Mayor shall be elected to serve a four‑year term."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
