Short Title:        Exploration Station/Grassroots Science Funds.

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for exploration station in robeson county.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Commerce for State Aid the sum of fifty‑eight thousand dollars ($58,000) for the 2015‑2016 fiscal year and the sum of fifty‑eight thousand dollars ($58,000) for the 2016‑2017 fiscal year to be used as operating expenses for Exploration Station, an interactive children's museum located in downtown Lumberton.

SECTION 2.  It is the intent of the General Assembly that Exploration Station shall receive a recurring allocation from funds appropriated to the Department of Commerce for State Aid for the Grassroots Science Program in subsequent fiscal years based on the formula used to calculate the allocations for funded members of the Grassroots collaborative.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2015.
