A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to authorize the north carolina health insurance risk pool to contract with the united states department of health and human services to administer the newly created federal high risk health insurance pool.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 58-50-180(e) is amended by adding a new subdivision to read:

"(15) Enter into contracts with the United States Department of Health and Human Services as is necessary or proper to administer the federal high risk health insurance pool established by the United States Congress in Public Law 111-148, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as amended."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
