§ 126A-5-11.  Order of hiring priority.

The following is the order of hiring priority for any position subject to this Article:

(1) The career employee promotional priority under G.S. 126A-5-12.

(2) At equal priority, the following:

a. The reduction-in-force priority under G.S. 126A-9-4.

b. The reemployment rights for certain exempt policymaking or exempt managerial employees under G.S. 126A-5-13.

(3) The preference for veterans, National Guard members, and spouses of active-duty troops under G.S. 126A-5-14.  (2026-40, s. 1.)
