HOUSE BILL 278

AN ACT sunsetting eligibility for participation in the local governmental employees' retirement system by boards of alcoholic control.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 128‑23 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:

"(h) Notwithstanding any provision of this section, G.S. 128‑21(11), or any other provision of law to the contrary, any board of alcoholic control that is not a participating employer in the Retirement System on June 30, 2021, is not eligible to participate in the Retirement System."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 17^th day of June, 2021.
