HOUSE BILL 137

 

 

AN ACT TO DEDICATE THE AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES CENTER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES as the STEVE TROXLER AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES CENTER.

 

Whereas, the functions and duties of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services touch the lives of every North Carolinian every day; and

Whereas, the new Agricultural Sciences Center is a cutting‑edge laboratory facility that spans 225,000 square feet and will perform critical tests for the Department's Food and Drug Protection, Standards, Structural Pest Control and Pesticides, and Veterinary Divisions; and

Whereas, the Agricultural Sciences Center will dramatically help to improve the quality of life for all the citizens of North Carolina, our nation, and those living in other nations; and

Whereas, the General Assembly wishes to express its recognition and appreciation of the faithful and dedicated service of Steve Troxler as the North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture and his leadership in promoting and constructing this magnificent new facility; Now, therefore,

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

SECTION 1.  The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall dedicate and rename the Agricultural Sciences Center located at 4400 Reedy Creek Road, Raleigh, North Carolina, the "Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 15th day of April, 2021.
