AN ACT TO ACCORD CERTAIN SCHOOL CREDITS TO GRADUATES OF HOSPITAL SCHOOLS OF NURSING.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1.  Every graduate of a diploma school of nursing in this State who has passed the Registered Nurse Examination shall, upon admission to any State supported institution of higher learning offering baccalaureate education in nursing, be granted credit for previous experience in the diploma school of nursing on an individual basis by the utilization of the most effective method of evaluation to the end that the applicant shall receive optimum credit and that upon graduation the applicant will have earned the baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Sec. 2.  Every State supported institution of higher learning offering the baccalaureate degree in nursing shall submit its plans and procedures to the State Board of Higher Education for implementing the provisions of this Act on or before the 1st day of September 1969.

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
