AN ACT TO PERMIT THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF HILLSBORO TO CONVEY CERTAIN LAND WITHIN SAID TOWN TO THE HILLSBORO LIBRARY ASSOCIATION AND TO THE HILLSBORO PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  The Commissioners of the Town of Hillsboro are hereby authorized and empowered to convey to the Hillsboro Library Association the lot of land situated at the northwest intersection of Tryon and Churton Streets on which is now located the Hillsboro Library, said lot to have such metes and bounds as the Commissioners may deem necessary and adequate. The consideration for this conveyance shall be fixed by the Board of Commissioners at such amount as they deem f air and reasonable.

Sec. 2.  The Commissioners of the Town of Hillsboro are hereby authorized and empowered to convey to the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church a lot of land adjoining the lot provided for in Section 1 of this Act and having such metes and bounds as the Board of Commissioners may deem necessary and adequate for the use of a site for expansion of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church or the Parish House adjacent thereto. The consideration for this conveyance shall be fixed by the Board of Commissioners at such amount as they deem fair and reasonable.

Sec. 3.  In the event that either or both of the lots herein mentioned shall cease to be used for the purposes expressed in this Act, then and in said event the title to said lots shall revert to the Town of Hillsboro, and the above authorized conveyances shall so provide.

Sec. 4.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5.  This Act shall be in force and effect from and after its ratification.
