HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1019

A JOINT RESOLUTION providing for the confirmation of the appointment of Floyd B. McKissick, Jr., to the utilities commission.

Whereas, under the provisions of G.S. 62‑10, appointments made by the Governor to membership on the North Carolina Utilities Commission are subject to confirmation by the General Assembly by joint resolution; and

Whereas, a vacancy will occur on June 30, 2019, when the term of James G. Patterson expires; and

Whereas, the Governor has submitted to the presiding officers of the House of Representatives and the Senate the appointment of Floyd B. McKissick, Jr., to serve a term commencing July 1, 2019, and expiring June 30, 2025, on the North Carolina Utilities Commission; Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

SECTION 1.  The appointment of Floyd B. McKissick, Jr., of Durham County to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a new term beginning July 1, 2019, and expiring June 30, 2025, is confirmed.

SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon ratification.
